When she was real young, I read the story about Jesus dying on the cross from one of her storybook Bibles, It talked about how he could have rescued himself— he didn’t have to endure the suffering but he chose to stay bc he loved us and knew it was the only way for us to be saved, Her sweet little voice just kept asking me, “He stayed???” I thought it was so powerful since we spend a lot of time singing about how he didn’t stay in the grave.
