When she was real young, I read the story about Jesus dying on the cross from one of her storybook Bibles, It talked about how he could have rescued himself— he didn’t have to endure the suffering but he chose to stay bc he loved us and knew it was the only way for us to be saved, Her sweet little voice just kept asking me, “He stayed???” I thought it was so powerful since we spend a lot of time singing about how he didn’t stay in the grave. Round about this time, I reluctantly attended our mid-week bible study session on a Wednesday and my pastor’s wife (Pastor Gloria) was teaching on Love. In this session, she taught on Ephesians 3:17-19 especially on vs 18 where she began to explain what the dimensions of God’s love looked like. My love language is love in its purest form so I was super attentive and captivated at the same time. It was as though it was my first time hearing about love, true and pure.
